Vision Statement

    The Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy for Excellence focuses on becoming an institution for learning that promotes the development of academically proficient and socially competent young men and women who will inevitably render positive contributions to our society.

    Our vision is to provide the necessary means to these ends by creating a learning environment that provides positive interpersonal experiences, proactive student discipline, social skills instruction based in universal character principles, growth reinforcement through tangible and intangible rewards, heightened civic consciousness through service learning experiences, and cultural experiences to raise levels of self esteem and increase appreciation for diversity; all brought together in a caring environment that nurtures and encourages students to strive for excellence in the pursuit of universal knowledge and service to humanity.

The mission of the Fayette County School's Martin L. King, Jr. Academy for excellence is to develop socio-academic skills and character qualities within each student to an extent that sufficiently prepares the student to successfully transition and succeed in a more common orientated school.
